Joanna Tierno

Joanna Tierno is an experienced advocate in the healthcare and patient support sectors, currently serving as the Steering Committee Patient Caregiver Representative for the Consumer Pain Advocacy Task Force since January 2020. As a contributing writer for The Mighty since September 2017 and a Patient Advocate at RMS Medical Products since 2014, Joanna has demonstrated a commitment to raising awareness and providing support for various health-related issues. Additionally, Joanna has been involved with the New York Blood Center as an advocate for blood donation and has moderated discussions for Pigeon People since 2004. Joanna's past leadership as Chairperson of the Shore Front Protection Committee for the Midland Beach Civic Association and volunteer work with the Immune Deficiency Foundation further underscores a dedication to community advocacy and support. Education was pursued at the City University of New York-College of Staten Island.
