Sophia Fountoukidis

Sophia Fountoukidis has over 14 years of professional experience in the insurance and consulting industries. In 2020, they began their current role as Head of Retail Marketing at Kosterina, where they are responsible for creating and executing strategic initiatives to increase awareness of Kosterina with retail partners and leading content creation to build the company's online community. From 2019 to 2020, they were self-employed as a Director. From 2014 to 2019, they were a Consulting Senior Manager and Senior Manager at Baringa Partners. From 2011 to 2014, they were a Risk Manager at Canopius, where they owned and delivered the biannual Top Risk Report, coordinated and led Emerging Risk Workshops, developed a template and process for Control Self Assessment, and owned the Stress Test and Scenario Methodology. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Senior Risk Manager at Brit Insurance, where they were a work stream lead for the development of the ORSA, owned and managed underwriting related Parent Risks for Solvency II, managed the Underwriting Strategic Business Units' risk management processes, led the development and implementation of the quarterly risk reporting process, and provided guidance to Risk Managers and Junior Risk Managers in embedding risk management. From 2007 to 2010, they worked at Deloitte UK as a Consultant and at AIG as a Client Service Executive. From 2006 to 2007, they were an Underwriter at AIG and Lexington Insurance Company. In 2005, they began their career as a Production Specialist at AIG and Western Risk Specialists (Lexington Insurance).

Sophia Fountoukidis has a diverse educational background. Sophia completed their Bachelor's degree in Economics and Spanish from New York University in 2002. Sophia then completed a Certificate Level in Management Accounting from CIMA: Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2008, and a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma in the same year. In 2011, they completed an MSc in Insurance and Risk Management from Cass Business School, and also obtained certifications in Business Accounting, Risk Management, and Economics and Spanish. Sophia is currently pursuing a Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University, which they expect to complete in 2023.
