Alan Scott

Principal at KPFF Consulting Engineers

Alan, a founding principal of the St. Louis office, joined KPFF in 2002 and has seen the office grow from a staff of four to 41. He has more than 35 years of experience in the structural engineering consulting industry and has a strong national reputation for providing outstanding seismic evaluation, seismic retrofit, and seismic risk analysis services. Alan is an expert in historic renovation, having performed evaluation and structural design on scores of late 1800/early 1900 buildings, and he has a unique understanding of historic building construction techniques and materials. His clients include architects, contractors, developers, and building owners, and he has worked on projects requiring sophisticated structural engineering analysis and design, and thorough client/user coordination and communication.

Alan has shared his knowledge of seismic evaluation and design at the National Earthquake Conference in Memphis, Tennessee, and has served on a historic building renovation discussion panel for the Missouri Preservation Society.
