Mark Vaessen

Mark Vaessen currently serves as a Board Member at IFAC since November 2024 and as a Partner at KPMG since October 2017, holding the positions of Global Chair of the Corporate & Sustainability Reporting Topic Team and Head of Professional Practice. Previously, Mark held various leadership roles including President and Deputy President at Accountancy Europe from January 2021 to December 2024, and Board Member positions at the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board from January 2021 to August 2022 and the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group until April 2021. Prior experience includes serving as Global Head of IFRS at KPMG in the UK from December 1997 to October 2017, a member of the IFRS Advisory Council at IASB from January 2009 to December 2013, and a national expert at the European Commission from 1993 to 1995. Mark holds a Post-graduate degree in Accountancy and a Master's degree in Business Economics, both from Tilburg University.
