VP, Global Head of Government Affairs at Kraft Heinz

Bill Behrens is the Vice President and Global Head of Government Affairs at Kraft Heinz. Prior to joining Kraft Heinz, Behrens served as the Head of Federal Government Affairs and Policy at General Electric Manufacturing Company (GEMAC) from February 2010 to December 2020. In this role, they led federal government affairs and policy for the company.

Before GEMAC, Behrens served as the Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs at The White House from January 2007 to December 2009. In this role, they were responsible for leading federal advocacy strategies targeted at state and local elected officials on key Administration priorities.

From January 2003 to December 2007, Behrens served as a Sr. Advisor Commercial & Business Affairs at the U.S. Department of State where they advised senior State Department officials on strategic commercial and business policy issues in Europe and the Middle East.

Behrens began their career in 1998 as a New Business Manager at Chemonics International where they managed international project development and business operations. Bill remained with Chemonics until 2003 when they transitioned to the State Department.

Bill Behrens completed a BA in Political Science with a minor in English from Messiah University and then went on to obtain a Master's degree in International Economic Policy with a regional concentration in Latin America from American University. Bill also holds a certification from the United States Federal Government in Top-Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance.

Bill Behrens reports to Miguel Patricio, CEO & Chair of the Board of Directors. They are on a team with Cory Onell - Chief Sales Officer, Carlos Abrams-Rivera - Zone President, U.S., and Kathy Krenger - Chief Communications Officer.
