Joonas Könttä

Joonas Könttä is a skilled professional in international affairs, ESG, and public affairs, currently serving as a Director at Kreab Worldwide since October 2023. Könttä has extensive experience in public service, including roles as a Regional Counselor and City Counselor in Central Finland and Jyväskylä, respectively, since June 2017, representing the Centre Party. From April 2019 to April 2023, Könttä was a Member of Parliament, actively engaged in the Defence and Communications Committees. Prior diplomatic roles include a position in the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and as Deputy Director in the Europe & Neighbouring Areas Unit. Könttä’s earlier career also includes serving as Secretary General at the Ministry of Education and Culture and as a Political Advisor in the European Parliament. Academic credentials include a Master's and Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Jyväskylä, along with studies at Aleksanteri-instituutti and Saint Petersburg State University.
