R. Thomas Mathew currently serves as the Medical Director at Carolina Dunes Behavioral Health and Trinity Wellness Center, holding positions since March 2019 and July 2005, respectively. Mathew has also contributed as an Advisory Board Member at Kresser Institute since September 2019 and has filled the role of Medical Director at The Healing Place of New Hanover County from October 2022 to January 2024. Additionally, Mathew worked as a psychiatrist for Mindbloom from July 2022 to January 2024, where oversight of mid-level providers delivering in-home psychedelic medicine treatments occurred. From September 2019 to January 2024, Mathew served as an Expert Reviewer for the North Carolina Medical Board and was a Clinical Professor at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington from July 2012 to July 2015. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine degree from UMass Chan Medical School (1990) and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Wesleyan University (1985).
