Dominic Freeston has a diverse work experience in the technology and education sectors. Dominic is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Kroo Bank since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Loveshark as a Senior iOS Developer from July 2021 to July 2022. From September 2017 to July 2021, Dominic held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Memrise.
Before joining Memrise, they worked at Novoda as an iOS Craftsman from January 2016 to September 2017. Dominic also has experience as a Developer at Many Things from August 2014 to January 2016.
In addition, they served as a Volunteer Club Leader at Code Club from March 2015 to August 2015. Dominic began their career as a Developer at Kaldor Product Development Group, where they worked from November 2012 to August 2014.
Before entering the tech industry, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at Queen Mary, University of London, providing tuition, support, and feedback to students in the Java programming course.
Outside of their technical roles, Dominic had a leadership position at The Yorker LTD as an Editor and Deputy Editor. Dominic was responsible for setting editorial policy, managing a team of over 80 writers, and authoring news articles and features for the independent news site serving the University of York student community. Dominic held this role from 2007 to 2009.
Dominic Freeston obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electronic Engineering and Music Technology Systems from the University of York. Dominic attended the university from 2005 to 2009. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Media and Art Technology from Queen Mary, University of London, from 2009 to 2011.
