Matthew Collings

Matthew Collings has a diverse work experience in various roles related to music and sound. Matthew worked as a Head of Product and General Manager at Krotos from 2014 to the present. Prior to that, they worked as a freelancer Composer, Sound Artist, and Sound Designer, taking on commissions and exhibiting their work in galleries from 2011 onwards. Matthew also held roles such as Workshop Holder at Edinburgh College of Art and Sound Engineer at Talbot Rice Gallery. In 2011, Matthew collaborated with Glasgow UNESCO City of Music as a Sound Designer for an interactive audio-visual installation. Matthew also worked as a Graduate Studio Assistant at Edinburgh College of Art, providing support for recording studios and leading music technology workshops. Additionally, Matthew worked as a Sound Designer and Software Programmer for the Imaginate Festival/North Edinburgh Arts, designing and executing sound and production for various performances. Matthew also has experience as a Kindergarten Teacher at Waldorfleikskólinn Sólstafir from 2005 to 2010.

Matthew Collings attended King Edward VI School for an unknown period of time and did not obtain a degree. Afterward, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Philosophy at the University of York from 2001 to 2004. Later on, in 2010 and 2011, they attended The University of Edinburgh, where they completed a Master of Science degree in Digital Composition and Performance, focusing on music. In terms of additional certifications, Matthew completed the Growth Marketing Programme at Startup Core Strengths in March 2022.
