Shachindra Kumar Pandey is a partner at K&S Partners. Shachindra previously worked at the Institute of Life Sciences from September 2004 to May 2008 as a post-doctoral researcher. In their research, they focused on the functional genomics of extremophiles, specifically studying bacterial diversity in hot springs located in the state of Orissa, India. Shachindra also bio-prospected for enzymes such as cellulase, protease, and lipase from thermophiles obtained during their study.

Before their work at the Institute of Life Sciences, Pandey worked towards their Doctoral degree at Gurukul Kangri University and PUSA in Delhi from January 2000 to September 2004. Their study aimed to investigate a link between the activity of different Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies against Spodoptera litura in vivo and their respective growth rates in vitro. Shachindra also conducted histopathological studies on the mid-gut of S. litura larvae to ascertain the extent of destruction caused by Bacillus thuringiensis endotoxin.

Shachindra Kumar Pandey has a Ph.D in Environmental Microbiology from Gurukula Kangri University and PUSA, Delhi. Shachindra also has an M.Sc in Microbiology from Gurukula Kangri University and a B.Sc in Biology from the same school. Shachindra is currently a post-doctoral researcher in the field of biotechnology at the Institute of Life Sciences (DBT Institute) in Bhubaneswar, India.
