Mieke Verbeeck is currently serving as a Guest Lecturer at KU Leuven, teaching Environmental Chemistry to MSc Bachelor students. Mieke Verbeeck has been a Senior Researcher at the Soil Service of Belgium since March 2022, focusing on soil carbon and nutrient balance in agricultural systems. Previous experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Rothamsted Research, where research centered on nitrogen cycling in grassland and arable systems, and at KU Leuven, investigating mechanisms of phosphorus tolerance in upland rice and risk assessment of arsenic mobility in soils. Mieke Verbeeck holds a PhD in Bioscience Engineering from KU Leuven, complemented by a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in the same field from the institution.
