Chris Coppola

Chris Coppola has a diverse range of work experience spanning several companies.

In 1992, they worked as the VP Technical Operations at Beyond Reality, Inc. where they were responsible for technical operations and assisting in the development of marketing and sales strategies.

In 1993, Chris worked as the Principal at Soft Reel Graphics, LLC., focusing on customer relationships, project management, corporate documentation, finances, and marketing. Chris also worked extensively with 3D modeling and animation software, 2D Graphic Design packages, programming, authoring tools, and World Wide Web development.

From 1994 to 1997, they served as the Director of Operations at Network One Communications Group, where they handled client relationships, project management, and primary business functions. Chris also led a CD-ROM product development and multimedia production team, utilizing development tools such as Delphi, Visual Basic, Director, and HTML.

Starting in 1997, Chris became the President of Rsmart, a position they held until 1999.

In 1999, they joined SCT Higher Education as the Senior Director of New Product Development.

From 2001 to 2014, Chris was a Co-Founder, President, and CEO of rSmart (originally The rSmart Group). During their time there, they helped grow the company to over $10 million in services and SaaS revenue. Chris focused on taking advantage of the open-source enterprise e-Learning software trend in higher education, building a SaaS business based on the open-source Sakai platform and later the open-source Kuali ERP software.

Chris joined the Kuali Foundation in 2004 as a Director and worked there until 2014.

From 2005 to 2008, they also served as a Director at the Sakai Foundation.

In 2014, Chris co-founded Kuali, Inc. with Joel Dehlin and the Kuali Foundation. Chris served as a Director and Officer, holding various roles such as Chief Operating Officer, President, General Manager, and Director. Chris'sresponsibilities included business administration, marketing and sales, and business operations.

In 2017, Chris joined Lumen Learning as the Chief Product Officer, a position they held until 2018.

Most recently, in 2021, they became the Chief Operating Officer at Kuali, Inc.

Chris Coppola attended Arizona State University from 1993 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology.
