Merilin Piipuu serves on multiple supervisory boards, including the Eesti Kunstimuuseum, Tallinna Lauluväljak, Pärnu Muuseum, Eesti Laulu- ja Tantsupeo SA, and Vabamu, the Museum of Occupations and Freedom, showcasing a strong commitment to cultural institutions in Estonia. Merilin holds the position of Undersecretary for Cultural Heritage at the Estonian Ministry of Culture since January 2019 and co-founded the Antropoloogia Keskus. Prior to these roles, Merilin was the Managing Director of Vabamu from 2015 to 2019 and worked as a journalist for The Nepali Times in 2014. Educational background includes a Business of Culture degree from Aalto University and a Master's Degree in Anthropology from the University of Tartu, complemented by undergraduate degrees in Sociology, Politics, and Media from both the University of Essex and Massey University.
