Tim Welch

Tim Welch started their work experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University in May 2007 and worked there until July 2012. Tim then joined Caltech as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in September 2012 and stayed until December 2014. Tim subsequently worked as a Patent Agent at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati from January 2015 to May 2019. Tim then joined Theravance Biopharma US, Inc. as an Associate Director and Senior Patent Agent from May 2019 to February 2022. Currently, Tim holds the position of Director and Senior Patent Agent at Kumquat Biosciences Inc. starting from April 2022.

Tim Welch has a strong background in chemistry education. Tim started their academic journey by pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from The University of Kansas, which they completed from 2003 to 2007. Following this, they continued their education at Colorado State University, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry from 2007 to 2012. Afterward, Tim pursued further training at Caltech, specializing in Chemical Biology as part of their postdoctoral training from 2012 to 2014.
