Joona Hallikainen is a resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Keski-Suomen sairaanhoitopiiri (KSSHP) Central Finland Health Care District since January 2021, specializing in orthognathics and craniofacial trauma surgery. As a part-time researcher at Kuopio University Hospital, Joona investigates the connections between oral and dental diseases and aneurysmal brain pathology. Joona has held various clinical teaching roles, including Clinical Lecturer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Part-time Lecturer at the University of Eastern Finland. Previous experience includes serving as a Consultant in Dentoalveolar Surgery and working in multiple dental practice roles. Joona earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Eastern Finland in 2018.
