Joonas Sirola has a diverse work experience in the field of medicine and academia. Joonas started their career as a Fellow in Orthopedics at Mikkeli Central Hospital in 2005 and later became a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Kuopio University Hospital (KUH). Joonas also served as the Chief Medical Officer and Assistant Chief of the Emergency Department (Orthopedics) at KUH.
In 2004, Sirola worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Eastern Finland and later held various positions including Associate Professor, Adjunct Professor, Professor, and Research Director. Joonas also worked as a Clinical Lecturer in Orthopedics and Surgery at the university.
