Principal Scientist - Bioinformatics at Kura Biotech

Javier Cáceres Molina's work experience includes roles at various companies and institutions. Javier began their career as a Mountain Works Operator at Wintergreen Resort in 2009. In 2010, they completed a laboratory internship at Universidad Andres Bello, where they focused on the construction of expression clones for plant systems. From 2013 to 2013, Javier worked as a Student in Professional Practice at Asistencia Técnica INTA, Universidad de Chile, where they helped establish a new laboratory and conducted bibliographic research on gene families in Arabidopsis thaliana. From 2014 to 2016, they served as a graduate student researcher at Center for Bioinformatics and Integrative Biology (CBIB), where they worked on a thesis project focused on the rational search for novel activators for ligand-dependent ion channels. Javier also conducted molecular docking techniques and molecular dynamics simulations for structure-function correlation. From 2016 to 2017, Javier worked as a Research Assistant at Universidad Andres Bello. Javier then joined Pfizer as a Bioinformatics Analyst in 2017 and later moved to Kura Biotech, where they held the positions of Senior Scientist and Principal Scientist in Bioinformatics.

Javier Cáceres Molina completed their education at two different institutions. From 1999 to 2004, they attended Instituto Nacional José Miguel Carrera, but did not earn a degree or specialize in any specific field of study during this time. Later, from 2005 to 2013, they pursued a degree in Biotechnology at Universidad Andres Bello, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Ingeniería en Biotecnología.
