Thomas Black

Director Of International Business - Plantic at Kuraray America, Inc.

Thomas Black has extensive work experience in the bioplastics industry. Thomas started in 2006 as the Manager of Customer Development at Metabolix. In 2008, they joined Plantic Technologies Ltd. as the Global Alliance Manager before being promoted to various leadership positions, including President of International Business and President of the Americas. In 2009, they became the VP of the Americas, where they were responsible for commercializing new bioplastics technology and managing relationships with strategic partners and brand owners. In 2015, they joined Kuraray America, Inc. as the Director of International Business for the Plantic division.

Thomas Black has studied Business and Financial Modeling at The Wharton School since 2016. Prior to that, they studied Lean Manufacturing at Boston University starting in 2005. Earlier in their education, they pursued a degree in Polymer/Plastics Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell starting in 1987. Additionally, Thomas obtained a Certificate in Finance & Corporate Strategy from Colombia Business School - IFFI.
