Christian Janssen

Christian Janssen is an experienced Intellectual Property professional currently serving as Manager of Intellectual Property at Kuraray Europe GmbH since January 2019, where responsibilities include the management of all intellectual assets, including patents, trademarks, and designs. Prior to this role, Christian worked as Patent Counsel at Solvay GmbH from May 2012 to December 2018, managing patent portfolios in Cleantech, Energy, and Life Sciences, and representing the company at the European Patent Office. Previously, Christian held the position of Patent Manager at Teva ratiopharm from February 2008 to May 2012 and was involved in patent strategy and litigation support. Christian's career also includes roles as Senior Research Scientist in medicinal chemistry at MerLion Pharmaceuticals and AstraZeneca, focused on drug discovery, and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Göttingen, complemented by training in intellectual property management at the Université de Strasbourg.
