Björn Símonarson

Björn Símonarson is an experienced professional in the field of information security, currently serving as the Head of Information Security at Kvika banki hf. since August 2022. Prior to this role, Björn was the CTO at SecureIT.is from March 2019 to August 2022, leading an offensive security team that conducted penetration testing on various networks. Björn's previous experience includes positions at Icelandair as Development Project Manager for a flight data recorder and fuel efficiency analysis platform, and as Principal Security Researcher at Syndis, where penetration testing and security assessments were key responsibilities. Additional roles include Senior Security Consultant at Capacent Iceland and various security-related positions within Iceland's national defense and police agencies. Björn holds a B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering from the University of Southern Denmark.
