Niclas Öster

Niclas Öster has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Niclas currently serves as the Head of Emerging Technologies and Cybersecurity at KWH Group Ltd, where they are responsible for leading and implementing new technologies and cybersecurity measures.

In their previous role as CIO and Chief Information Officer at Prevex, Niclas drove the digitalization of operations and focused on implementing robotics in mass manufacturing and optimizing production processes to maximize profit. Niclas also transformed the ICT function to actively support the business strategy by streamlining ICT services into a self-service out-of-the-box activity.

Prior to that, Niclas worked at Citec Group as a Director and Global Business Development Manager, Information Services. Niclas focused on setting up well-managed processes and relationships to increase sales reach through technology partner network and cooperation, while creating services to support companies in managing the transition to digital and intelligent information management.

Before joining Citec Group, Niclas held various managerial roles at Wärtsilä. As the General Manager, Operations Office, they spearheaded complex development initiatives, aligned process and systems development with operational and information management functions, and ensured customer involvement in development programs. Niclas also served as the General Manager, Documentation & Tools, where they engaged in strategic planning for business development initiatives and managed concept documentation methodologies.

Niclas also had managerial roles at Wärtsilä Finland Oy: Services (Electrical & Automation Solutions Management), Wärtsilä Corporation: Services, and Wärtsilä Corporation, Marine Division. In these roles, they focused on operational and business development, technical information management, content management, and information management e-service development.

Their expertise extends to enterprise architecture, enterprise resource planning (ERP) application architecture, e-business release management, project management, and digital media development.

Niclas Öster has a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from VAMK University of Applied Sciences. Niclas also attended Vaasa Vocational Institute from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained a Datanom degree in Information Technology. Prior to that, they attended Närpes Gymnasium from 1988 to 1991.
