Alexandros Giannakoulopoulos

Alexandros Giannakoulopoulos has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and engineering. Alexandros currently holds a position as a Data Scientist at Kx, a division of First Derivatives plc, where they started in February 2020. Prior to that, they also worked as a Data Scientist at First Derivatives, starting in the same month.

Before transitioning to the data science field, Alexandros served in the Hellenic Army as a Staff Sergeant from December 2017 to August 2018. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating the daily staff rota for a platoon of 50+ soldiers and created software to automate the process.

Alexandros also gained experience as a Machine Learning Engineer at SingularLogic from October to December 2019. During this time, they worked on implementing machine learning algorithms.

In 2016, Alexandros worked as a Trainee Data Scientist at EY, where they analyzed energy data for a major electronics retail seller and implemented state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms using R. Alexandros also worked on timeseries analysis and forecasting models.

In 2014, they were a Trainee Field Engineer at SenseOne Technologies, where they assisted in site surveys and field energy audits in commercial buildings. Alexandros also analyzed energy consumption data and prepared energy efficiency reports using software-as-a-service. Additionally, they supported customer workshops on the topic of energy efficiency.

Alexandros Giannakoulopoulos completed their education with a Master's degree in Data Science from the University of Bath in 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Patras, which they completed in 2018.
