Varghese Maliekal

Varghese Maliekal has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Varghese started their career as a Mainframe Developer at BNY Mellon in 2006 and later transitioned into a Senior Test Analyst role at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where they played various roles in mainframe application development and maintenance. Varghese then moved to Barclays as a Senior Test Analyst, primarily focusing on test data management. Varghese then joined Clydesdale Bank as a Test Lead (Cognizant), managing multiple projects within the Channels & Digital Portfolio and Banking & Payments portfolio.

In 2018, Varghese joined Arm as a Software QA Lead/Manager, where they were responsible for setting up a QA team, establishing testing and QA processes, and implementing test automation frameworks. Varghese gained experience with Cypress.io for web UI testing and Pytest framework and Postman for automated API testing.

Varghese continued their career at Pelion, where they initially served as a Staff Test Automation Lead and then progressed to the role of Principal Test Automation Lead. Varghese focused on scaling up the test automation frameworks, integrating them with CI/CD pipelines, optimizing test suites, and reducing costs.

Most recently, Varghese joined KX as a QA Automation Lead in 2023.

Varghese Maliekal completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they attended Toch Public School from 1988 to 2001, where they completed their XII degree with a focus on Computer Science.

In addition to their formal education, Varghese Maliekal obtained a certification as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in July 2021.
