Randy Barnes

Randy Barnes has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on technical operations, chemistry, and development. Randy is currently the Executive Director of CMC Technical Operations at Kymera Therapeutics since June 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Director of Global Discovery Chemistry at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) from May 2017 to December 2019. Randy has also held various leadership positions at Cerulean Pharma, ArQule Inc., Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and Bayer Pharmaceuticals. Their roles have involved responsibilities such as pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, analytical development, and compliance initiatives. Randy has a strong background in laboratory setup, staff hiring, and instrument procurement.

Randy Barnes earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from East Carolina University, where they studied from 1985 to 1990. Randy went on to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry at North Carolina State University, completing their degree from 1991 to 1998.
