Rudy Valdez has a comprehensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Starting in 1990, Valdez worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they led a software development team responsible for building software used to control spacecraft for various deep space missions. Rudy also developed APGEN, a mission planning software system.
Valdez then moved on to Xerox Corporation in 1996, where they worked as a researcher and technical alliance manager. Rudy investigated emerging technologies for managing Xerox products and managed the technical relationship between Xerox and Microsoft.
In 2001, Valdez joined IBM as a business development manager. Rudy managed the technical relationship between Microsoft and Rational Software, helping integrate Rational tools into the Visual Studio development environment. Rudy also built the ISV partner ecosystem around the Eclipse-based Rational toolset post IBM's acquisition of Rational.
Valdez's next significant role was at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2005. Rudy started as a senior manager in business development, where they played a vital role in helping establish the AWS Field organization. Rudy built relationships with initial customers and participated in the early industry verticalization efforts within AWS.
Over time, Valdez took on various leadership roles at AWS, including director of solutions architecture, business development, and training & certification, and later became the VP of solutions architecture and training & certification. In these roles, they led the Solutions Architecture and Training & Certification functions, working with customers and partners to leverage the AWS cloud computing platform, driving scale and impact through various initiatives.
More recently, Valdez joined Docebo in 2021 as the Chief Operating Officer. Rudy was responsible for product development, IT, security, and operations at Docebo, a leader in the Learning Platform SaaS market segment. Rudy unified the Product Development team, improved product quality, and built a global 24x7 cloud operations and product support team.
In 2023, Valdez will be joining Kyron Learning as the Chief Operating Officer.
Rudy Valdez obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington, where they studied from 1985 to 1990. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at UCLA, from 1990 to 1993.
