David McDonald

David McDonald has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. David started their career at Kolisch Hartwell, P.C. as a Patent Draftsman, where they performed claims drafting and technical writing for a range of patent applications. After that, they worked at SpendWell Health (formerly Sprig Health) as a Business and Legal Analyst, where they managed intellectual property portfolio, contractual proposals, and ensured compliance with laws and regulations. David then transitioned to the role of Technical Product Manager, leading a team of developers and overseeing product initiatives.

In 2016, David joined HealthSparq as a Senior Technical Product Manager, where they developed a strategic roadmap, collaborated with engineers and designers, and aimed to exceed user expectations. David later became the Manager of Software Development, where they managed a team of talented engineers working on web services for the core HealthSparq One application. Finally, they served as the Senior Manager of Data Platform Products, coordinating and collaborating across teams to ensure efficiency, velocity, and quality.

Currently, David is the Product Director for Data Services at Kyruus Health. In this role, they oversee a team of Product Managers to create a product vision and roadmap aligned with long-term corporate goals. David collaborates with engineering to refine the scope, understand technical design options, and create an execution plan.

David McDonald received their Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) degrees in Intellectual Property from the UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law between 2005 and 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Mathematics, from Portland State University from 2002 to 2005. In addition to their educational achievements, David McDonald holds certifications in Bar from the Oregon State Bar and ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance.
