Matt Reed

Matt Reed has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2002 as a Graduate Research Assistant at Intelligent Machine Dynamics Laboratory, Georgia Tech. In 2004, they became a Control Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman. In 2009, they were a Financial Engineering Intern at Spot Trading. In 2010, they were a Software Architect (as Senior Financial Analyst) at Strategic Global Advisors. From 2013 to 2021, they held various roles at Addepar, including Director of Engineering, Data Integrations & Analytics, Software Engineer, APIs & Integrations, Software Engineer, Internal Tools & Analytics, Engineering Manager, API Platform, DevOps Engineer, and Deployment Manager. Most recently, they have been Co-Founder & Head of Engineering at Opto Investments since 2021.

Matt Reed obtained their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2002. Matt then went on to complete a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2003. In 2009, they received their Master of Financial Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. In addition, they hold a Chartered Financial Analyst certification from the CFA Institute.
