Vitalii Dodonov

Vitalii Dodonov is a data scientist and software engineer who currently serves as the co-founder and head of engineering at Stan. Vitalii has also worked for companies such as eBay and Deloitte in the past.

Dodonov began their career as a software engineer, working for eBay from May 2020 to June 2021. During their time there, they maintained eBay's Seller Hub backend systems. Vitalii then left to work as the lead software developer for www.vhinny.com from January 2019 to December 2019.

During their time at Deloitte from August 2018 to May 2020, Dodonov worked as a data scientist. Vitalii was responsible for designing and implementing full technology stack for www.vhinny.com. This included writing backend as REST API using Python (Flask), Apache AirFlow to orchestrate data processing pipelines (Python, Postgres), querying and parsing webscraped data, requesting content from public APIs, parsing XML and text into tabular format, and many others.

Dodonov was able to reduce data mapping development time from an estimated 3 months to just 0.5 months by introducing bag-of-words and tf-idf algorithms to learn patterns in user input and extrapolating the patterns to the remaining ~20K entities. Vitalii also designed and implemented the frontend in Vue.js, featuring a sophisticated yet simple UI and UX. The interface was later upgraded to work seamlessly with mobile devices

Vitalii Dodonov has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and Computer Process Control from the University of Alberta. Vitalii also has a Leadership Certificate (2-year program) in Multidisciplinary Leadership from the Peter Lougheed Leaderhip College (1 year completed). In addition, they have certification from Microsoft in Azure Data Science Associate, from University of Alberta in Chemical Safety, Emerging Leaders Program, Laboratory Safety, Alberta Student Leadership Summit, and WHMIS. Vitalii also has certification from Duolingo in Duolingo French Fluency: Beginner (Estimated), and from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Developer Associate.
