Lewis Hay III

Lewis Hay III, 66, has been a member of the L3Harris or a predecessor board since 2002 and serves as chair of our Compensation Committee and as a member of our Nominating and Governance Committee. Hay is currently an operating advisor for Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC.

Hay served as executive chairman of NextEra Energy, Inc. from 2012 until he retired in 2013. Prior to that, he served as NextEra Energy’s chief executive officer from 2001 to 2012, chairman from 2002 to 2012, president from 2001 to 2006 and as president of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC from 2000 until 2001. He joined NextEra Energy in 1999 as vice president, finance and chief financial officer. He also served as chief executive officer of Florida Power & Light Company from 2002 to 2008.

Hay is also a member of the board of directors of Anthem, Inc. (since 2013). Hay served as a director of Capital One Financial Corporation from 2003 to 2019. Hay also served on President Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness from 2011 to 2013.
