Rhia Crystal Vargas

Crystal Vargas, RHIA has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Crystal currently serves as the Director of Health Information Management at La Amistad Behavioral Health since February 2020. Prior to that, they worked as an Account Manager at VaxCare, where they were responsible for managing medical offices and ensuring compliance with vaccine administration and claims processing. Crystal also has experience as a CPR Instructor, Medical Records and Billing Department Supervisor at GuideWell, Medical Biller/AR Specialist at AeroCare Holdings, Inc., and Health Information Supervisor at STAT Informatic Solutions. Crystal began their career as a Patient Care Services/Certified Nursing Assistant at Tuskawilla Nursing and Rehab Center, where they provided care to residents recovering from various health conditions. Crystal also holds the position of President at The Information Management Group since June 2022.

Crystal Vargas, RHIA, obtained their high school diploma from Mother Cabrini High School in 2002. Crystal then pursued a career in healthcare and attended the Cambridge Institute of Allied Health in 2002, where they became a Certified Nursing Assistant. In 2003, Crystal enrolled at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, majoring in Computer and Information Sciences. Crystal completed their studies in 2006.

After working in the field for some time, Crystal decided to further their education in the field of healthcare informatics. From 2013 to 2017, they attended Oregon Health & Science University, focusing on Biomedical Informatics. In April 2018, Crystal obtained the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification from CAHIIM: Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management.

Additionally, Crystal obtained their Certified Nursing Assistant certification from the Florida State Board of Nursing in April 2012.
