Courtney Stewart

Courtney Stewart is an accomplished theatre professional currently serving as the Artistic Director and CEO of La Boite Theatre since July 2022. Previously, Courtney held the position of Artistic Associate at Contemporary Asian Australian Performance (CAAP) from January 2022 to November 2022 and worked as a Directing Associate at Sydney Theatre Company from July 2015 to November 2022, where Courtney also directed "Top Coat," which premiered in June 2022, and was honored as a Richard Wherrett Fellow. Additional contributions include being a Teaching Artist and a Board Member at CAAP, as well as serving as the Chair of the Equity Diversity Committee for MEAA. From November 2014 to January 2019, Courtney worked as a Presenter, Writer, Educator, and Performing Artist at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences and played a role as the Assistant Performance Director for the City of Sydney's Chinese New Year Lunar Lantern Festival in early 2016. Courtney Stewart graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Industries: Drama (with a sub-major in Dance) from Queensland University of Technology between 2006 and 2008.
