Carlos Pelayo

Carlos Pelayo is currently the Chief Financial Officer at La Haus, a tech platform specializing in the digital sale of new homes in emerging markets. Carlos has been with the company since September 2021.

Prior to their role at La Haus, Carlos worked at Credit Suisse for almost a decade. Carlos held various positions within the Investment Banking department, including Director, Vice President, and Associate. During their time at Credit Suisse, Carlos advised corporations on landmark transactions in M&A, capital raising, and structured financings. Carlos specialized in the Tech, Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas sectors in Mexico.

Carlos also has experience working at HSBC Securities, where they participated in over 30 corporate bond and securitization transactions worth USD 8.0 billion. Carlos began as an Analyst in the Corporate Banking division and was promoted to Associate on the Global Capital Markets team.

Additionally, Carlos had an internship as a Business Analyst at Deutsche Post DHL Inhouse Consulting.

Carlos holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, which they completed from July 2010 to June 2012.

Throughout their career, Carlos has consistently received high ratings and recognition for their work, including being named the Best Associate of the Investment Banking Latin America Group at Credit Suisse.

Carlos Pelayo completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey from 2001 to 2005. Carlos then pursued an MBA degree in Business Administration and Management from Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they participated in an exchange semester at HSB Hochschule Bremen – City University of Applied Sciences in 2004-2005 and attended the University of St.Gallen in 2005.
