Ilana Weiss

Ilana Weiss has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. In 2004, they worked as a Payment Operations Associate at Claims Conference. From 2005 to 2012, they were self-employed, working as a Freelance Translator and an English Teacher/Consultant. In 2006, they also had a role as an English Consultant/English Editor at Zazen Producciones, where they provided assistance in script editing and translation.

In 2008, they volunteered at Hospital Teodoro Álvarez, and in 2009, they worked as a Content Contributor and Social Outreach at Harlem Health Promotion Center. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Research Assistant at Centro de Estudios de Estado y Sociedad (CEDES). In 2010, they worked as a Summer Associate at Slum Dwellers International/Muungano Support Trust.

Ilana'smost recent work experience is with La Isla Network, where they held multiple positions. From 2012 to 2013, they served as the Interim Chief Operations Officer/Director of Policy and Public Health. In 2013, they became the Senior Director of Policy and Public Health, a role they held until July 2022. Currently, they serve as the Chief Program Officer at La Isla Network.

Ilana Weiss has a diverse education history. Ilana began their education at Colgate University, where they studied Anthropology and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from 2000 to 2004. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master's in Public Health (MPH) degree at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health from 2008 to 2011. During their time at Columbia, they focused on Sociomedical Sciences and Urbanism and the Built Environment. In addition to their MPH degree, they also earned a Master of International Affairs (MIA) in Global Health from Columbia | SIPA, where they studied from 2009 to 2011.
