Chen Sun, PhD, is a postdoctoral fellow at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology, having started in May 2023. Prior to this position, Chen served as a postdoctoral associate at Washington University in St. Louis from January 2022 to May 2023, focusing on impactful projects in structural biology under the guidance of Dr. Rui Zhang. Chen completed a PhD in Biology/Biological Sciences at Purdue University from August 2016 to December 2021, studying under Dr. Wen Jiang and gaining extensive expertise in single-particle cryo-electron microscopy. Additionally, Chen held a role as a graduate teaching assistant for the Human Anatomy and Physiology lab, where engagement with students enhanced both teaching and understanding of the subject matter. Chen was also a member of the Women in Science Programs graduate leadership team at Purdue University from May 2020 to May 2021. Chen holds a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Nankai University, obtained from 2012 to 2016.
