Kristie Zappas, PharmD, BCIDP, BCPS AQ-ID

Kristie Zappas has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on clinical pharmacy and medical affairs. Kristie currently holds the position of Director of Medical Affairs at Innoviva Specialty Therapeutics, Inc., which they started in March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as the Diagnostics Lead for the U.S. from November 2020 to March 2022.

From April 2018 to November 2020, Kristie served as the Director of Clinical Development and Optimization at Accelerate Diagnostics. Before that, they worked at Florida Hospital in various roles, including Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator/Residency Program Director from May 2015 to May 2018, Clinical Pharmacy Manager/Residency Program Director from January 2014 to May 2015, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship from January 2011 to January 2014, and Clinical Pharmacist from June 2010 to January 2012.

Kristie'searly career includes positions at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where they were a Clinical Pharmacist from July 2009 to June 2010, and a PGY1 Resident from July 2008 to July 2009.

Kristie Zappas obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Molecular and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida from 1999 to 2003. Kristie then pursued their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree at Wingate University from 2004 to 2008.

In terms of certifications, Kristie holds several additional qualifications. Kristie became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) in January 2013 and obtained Advanced Qualifications in Infectious Diseases from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) in January 2015. Kristie further achieved the Board Certified Infectious Diseases Pharmacist (BCIDP) certification from BPS in July 2020. Kristie also completed the Pragmatic Certified Product Manager program at Pragmatic Institute in September 2021 and obtained PMC Level VIII from the same institution in March 2022.
