Rocio Velazquez

Rocio Velazquez is an experienced legal and advocacy professional currently serving as the Vice President of Statewide Engagement at The Children's Movement of Florida since March 2018. Rocio has held various roles within the organization, including Statewide Engagement Director and Special Assistant. Additionally, Rocio contributes as a board member for The Lucy Project and Florida Breastfeeding Coalition, Inc., and has been a leader with La Leche League International since November 2009. Previous experience includes roles as a board member for the Ada Merritt K-8 PTA Miami and a volunteer interpreter for Americans for Immigrant Justice. Rocio has also worked as a legal assistant intern at Hans Burgos P.A. and as Chief Legal Counsel for the Ministry of Education, overseeing internationally funded projects. Rocio holds a Master of Laws degree from Florida International University, a Breastfeeding Counselor certificate from Edulacta, and a law degree from Universidad Rafael Landívar. Maternity is a central aspect of Rocio's life, with responsibilities for two children.
