Manuel Muñoz

Manuel Muñoz has a wealth of experience in the field of urban planning, having worked for various cities and organizations. Manuel is currently serving as the Community Development Director for the City of La Mirada, where they manage and oversees the activities of the Planning Division and Building & Safety Division. Manuel is responsible for preparing and managing the department's annual budget and work plan, as well as supervising and mentoring a team of eight staff members.

Prior to their current role, Manuel worked for the City of Azusa as the Planning Manager from May 2019 to November 2022. Before that, they held positions as Senior Planner and Associate Planner in the same organization. During their time in Azusa, Manuel gained experience in project management and processing entitlement applications for the Planning Commission.

Manuel Muñoz's education history begins in 2004 when they attended Cerritos College and obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Architecture. Manuel then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, graduating in 2009. In 2007, Manuel participated in the China Interdisciplinary Study Abroad Program at North China University of Technology, focusing on Environmental Design. Furthermore, they were selected as a Carnegie Mellon University JSI Fellow through the Public Policy & International Affairs Fellowship Program in 2008.
