Jorge Luis Macias is an experienced independent reporter and photojournalist based in Los Angeles, CA, with a career spanning over three decades. Since September 2015, Jorge has been contributing to La Opinión, the largest Spanish-language newspaper in the area, focusing on impactful storytelling. In addition to ongoing work with La Opinión since 1993 as a freelance writer and photojournalist covering politics, immigration, and health, Jorge has extensive experience in sports journalism, having reported on multiple FIFA World Cups and boxing championships. Previous roles include writing for The Orange County Catholic Newspaper and Excelsior, as well as contributing to The Huffington Post and Miniondas.
