Trent McLaurin

Trent McLaurin, Ph.D., serves as an Associate Professor of Education at La Salle University since August 2019 and holds the title of LADDER Faculty Fellow. With a foundation in Critical Disability Studies and Special Education, Trent's experience includes roles such as Director of Specialized Services and Assistant Director of Emotional Support at Mastery Charter Schools, where responsibilities included overseeing emotional support interventions and developing training for staff working with students with Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities (EBD). Previous roles also include Behavior Specialist and Special Education Teacher at Fairfax County Public Schools, where focus was on behavior management and support for students with emotional disabilities. Trent has contributed to academic growth through positions as an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University and as a Graduate Research Assistant, culminating in a Ph.D. in Education from George Mason University.
