Juan José Pocaterra Mendoza has had a varied and extensive career in the technology and finance industries. In 2005, they began working as a PFE Latinamerica at Motorola. Two years later, they moved to Banco Canarias de Venezuela as an International Planification Analyst. In 2010, they shifted to Grupo Intech Solutions as Director of Business Development, where they were responsible for developing business models, PPP's, and strategic partnerships. In 2017, they became Chief Executive Officer at Vikua. Most recently, in 2020, they co-founded and became Director of La Wawa, an innovative Transit Tech startup providing a digital experience for the private daily commuting of company personnel.

Juan José Pocaterra Mendoza attended Colegio Santiago de León de Caracas from 1989 to 2003, where they completed their high school education. Juan José then attended Universidad Metropolitana (VE) from 2003 to 2008, where they obtained a BA in Managerial Economics. Following this, they earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Universidad Metropolitana (VE) from 2008 to 2013. In 2019, they attended Harvard Kennedy School and completed an Executive Program in Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century. Additionally, they attended Indian Hill Middle School from 1996 to 1998 for their primary education.
