Melissa Wood

Melissa Wood is an experienced educator and leader in the field of speech-language services, currently serving as the Head of Middle School and Director of Speech, Language and Literacy at The Lab School of Washington since July 2013. Melissa manages a team of 20 clinicians and administrators, overseeing services for over 350 students and a summer program supporting more than 100 students. Previous roles include Executive Director of The Reservoir Group, adjunct professor at American University, Speech-Language Pathologist at Invo Healthcare Associates, and Literacy Coordinator at Chelsea School. Melissa holds a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Business School Online, a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from MGH Institute of Health Professions, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Williams College.
