Neil Thanedar has a diverse work experience, having held roles in a variety of industries. In 2007, they worked as a Stadium Associate for Vivid Sky, performing user research and content management. From 2009-2010, they were the Executive Director of The Detroit Partnership, coordinating service-learning programs for University of Michigan students. In 2009, they also worked as a Project Manager for the University of Michigan Medical Innovation Center, helping clinicians develop business plans and analyze potential customers and markets. In 2010, they co-founded Avomeen Analytical Services and served as its CEO and President until 2012. In 2012, they founded NeilThanedar.com, where they wrote 100+ essays based on their experiences working with startups and politics. Neil also founded Labdoor in February 2012 and was its CEO until December 2020. In 2017, they served as a Senior Advisor for their father's campaign for Michigan Governor, State Representative, and US Congress. In 2020, they founded Air To All, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that designs, produces, and distributes low-cost medical devices. Finally, in 2022, they founded Utopic Ventures, a pre-seed VC fund that aims to be the first investor in biotech startups.
Neil Thanedar attended Y Combinator in 2015 and obtained a YC Core. Neil then attended the University of Michigan from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a B.S. in Cellular & Molecular Biology and a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
