John Reed M.D.

John Reed MD is a highly experienced medical professional and entrepreneur with a diverse background in anesthesiology and biotechnology. Currently serving as a Principal at Labx Ventures since April 2024, John Reed also provides anesthesia services at several outpatient surgery centers and Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego as an anesthesiologist, a role held since July 1993. Prior experience includes being a partner at Cleantech Consultants LLC, evaluating emerging technologies for investment, and serving as CEO of North American Repower, specializing in remanufactured natural gas conversion engines. John Reed has also contributed as a board member at Omnitek Engineering, worked as a biotechnology health policy analyst in the Office of Assistant Secretary of Health, and founded a biotech startup, Immusine, while an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley. Academic credentials include multiple degrees in Immunology, Microbiology, and Public Health from UC Berkeley and an MD in Anesthesiology from UC San Diego.
