Jerry Jakubovic

Jerry Jakubovic is an associate at Ladas & Parry in the New York office.

Jerry’s practice concentrates on domestic and international IP-related matters for diverse clients in myriad industries, including fashion, technology, finance, consumer goods, digital currency and pharmaceuticals.

While addressing his clients’ immediate concerns regarding trademarks and brands, Jerry also helps them protect their brands in the future. He assists clients with all aspects of developing and managing brands, including trademark and copyright prosecution, licensing, enforcement and infringement matters, as well as domain name issues and disputes. Jerry also assists clients with IP issues in the context of corporate and financing transactions, including analyzing IP-related provisions and agreements and conducting due diligence.

Jerry knows advancing the interests of clients requires close cooperation, which in many cases involves working with his client’s marketing, advertising, communications and product line management departments. He helps craft, identify and select new marks, advises clients on the proper use of trademarks and helps create and maintain brand identity manuals. Jerry is proactive when protecting the intellectual property of clients, implementing programs that identify and address infringing or diluting use of the client’s intellectual property by competitors and other third parties. Jerry is a vital part of any team responsible for protecting the valuable intellectual property of clients and for developing strategies to enhance and leverage the client’s brand.

After graduating from Tulane University, Jerry received his JD from New York Law School, where he earned a certificate in Intellectual Property Law, awarded to students who demonstrate excellence with respect to trademark, copyright and patent law. He was also a member of the Media, Entertainment, and Fashion Law Association and the International Law Society. Throughout law school, Jerry worked with several boutique law firms that concentrated on intellectual property matters. Jerry is a very passionate pro bono advocate and serves as a liaison to many organizations in New York City. In his spare time, Jerry enjoys stand-up comedy, music performances, traveling and participating in a wide variety of sports, such as football and snowboarding.
