Jussi Leveinen is a Professor at Aalto University since August 2009, specializing in engineering geology within the Department of Civil Engineering, with a focus on the characterization of rocks, mineral-based geomaterials, and mineral-water interactions through laser-spectral methods. Concurrently, Jussi serves as a Docent (Adjunct Professor) of Hydrogeology at the University of Helsinki since January 2003 and is a member of the Advisory Board at LaDiMo Oy since October 2016. Previous roles include membership on the Nuclear Safety Board's Division of Nuclear Waste Management at STUK - Säteilyturvakeskus from August 2009 to December 2014 and Chief Scientist leading the Groundwater research programme at the Geological Survey of Finland from January 2000 to July 2009. Jussi holds an MSc in Geology from the University of Minnesota Duluth, an MSc in Geology and Mineralogy, and a PhD in Hydrogeology, both from the University of Helsinki.
