Marcelo Velarde is an experienced professional in the finance and real estate sectors, currently serving as a Mortgage Loan Underwriter at Lafayette Federal Credit Union since July 2020. Prior roles include Leasing and Sales Associate at CapStar Commercial Realty, Sr. Mortgage Banker at Capital Bank, N.A., and Senior Associate in Neighborhood Lending at Capital One. Marcelo has a strong background in financial analysis, consumer and commercial lending, and mortgage product expertise, having mastered various loan programs such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, and VA. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies from the University of Maryland Global Campus and additional studies at the University of Maryland and Weichert Real Estate School.
