Charles B. Dewitt

Charles B. DeWitt is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public safety and national security. As a co-founder and board member of Lafayette Group since 1994, Charles has contributed to strategic and technical innovations for government agencies in emergency communications and law enforcement management. Previously, as Senior Associate Director of the Major Cities Chiefs Association from 1999 to 2019, Charles supported police chiefs from the nation's largest cities. Charles also served as Director of the National Institute of Justice from 1984 to 1994, appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. Notable roles include Director of Border Security at The White House, Director of Justice Services for Santa Clara County, and positions in criminal justice planning and law enforcement. Charles B. DeWitt holds an Honors and Distinction degree in Psychology and Criminology from Stanford University, with additional studies at the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford.
