Matthew Maldonado

Matthew Maldonado has extensive work experience in the Themed Entertainment Industry. Matthew has worked as an Assistant Art Director for LAIKA, LLC since 2021. Prior to that, they were a Miniature Model Maker and Prop Maker for various Film and TV Productions, including Vans Shoe and The Aquabats Super Show. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Production Designer and Art Director for Universal Studios Hollywood, where they focused on creating renderings, books, and graphics for design communication. Matthew also worked as a Prop Maker, Set Dresser, and Install Lead for The Walt Disney Company from 2018 to 2019, contributing to the creation of an immersive Star Wars experience. Matthew also has previous experience with Universal Studios Hollywood, where they worked as a Production Designer, Art Director, Set Dresser, and Prop Maker on projects such as Halloween Horror Nights and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Matthew also worked as a freelance Prop Maker for The Walt Disney Company, specializing in custom elements for Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World, and Shanghai Disneyland.

Matthew Maldonado attended The Art Institutes from 2008 to 2011, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Set and Exhibit Design.
