Chris Murphy

Chris Murphy is currently serving as the Global Cyber Security Architect at Laing O'Rourke, an international engineering and construction company, since November 2022. In this role, Chris is pivotal in developing and implementing security architectures and technologies to address emerging threats. Prior to this, Chris held the position of Cyber Security Operations Manager at Urban Utilities for a short period and worked as a Security Risk professional at both Australian Retirement Trust and Sunsuper. Chris has a robust background in IT security and operations, with previous roles as Head of IT Security & Risk, Head of DevOps, and Head of Infrastructure at Simple The Marketing Performance Platform. Earlier career experiences include leadership positions in infrastructure management at Onthehouse Holdings, Trapeze Group, Sigtec, and Softlink. Chris holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a focus on Network Systems from Queensland University of Technology and also studied Technology Education at Griffith University.
