Ivan Karpov

Ivan Karpov is currently a Scientific Developer at laiout. Prior to this, Ivan worked as a Lecturer at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from September 2015 to December 2020. There, they designed lectures, exercises, semester projects and exam problems for a course on applied computer methods. Ivan also has experience working as a Teaching Assistant at Novosibirsk State University from September 2013 to June 2015, where they organized experiments in seismic tomography and supervised semester projects of 1st and 2nd year students. Additionally, Ivan worked as an Engineer at the Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics SB RAS from July 2012 to June 2015, where they processed borehole seismic data and developed a ray-tracing algorithm for seismic data modeling.

Ivan Karpov has a Master of Science in Geophysics from Novosibirsk State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from the same school. Ivan also has a certification from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists in the Imperial Barrel Awards, and another certification from ExxonMobil in Integrated Basin Analysis. Finally, they have a certification from Schlumberger in Logging Technologies for Formation Evaluation.
